The Chilliwack Crime Free Multi-Housing program is a direct and solution orientated crime prevention initiative designed specifically to help apartment owners, managers, residents, police and other agencies work together to help keep illegal and nuisance activity off rental property.
On November 30, 2009 the Province of BC and the Federal Government announced $2.5 million dollars in funding from the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund for the installation of a sanitary sewer system in the Tyson-Stevenson area. This grant funding provides up to 2/3 the cost of the sewer installation with the remaining amount split between the City of Chilliwack and the area residents. The project has a completion requirement by March 2011 in order to meet the funding requirements.
