Public invited to contribute to the health of the citizens of Chilliwack January 27, 2014

The Chilliwack Healthier Community Stewardship Council is seeking participants for a series of forums to be held in February and March.

The purpose of the forums is to update community stakeholders on progress in implementing Chilliwack's 2011 Healthier Community Strategic Action Plan and to engage community partners in identifying emerging needs, re-assessing the goals, and identifying collaborative opportunities to address the highest priority issues related to crime and public safety, homelessness and affordable housing, mental health and substance use and primary health care in our community.

Community organizations, government agencies, and individuals with expertise or an interest in any of these topics are encouraged to participate in one or more of the following events:

Why participate?

These half-day forums will assist the Council in revising the Plan and to establish priorities around the Council's goals, strategies and actions for 2014-2015.

Like before, these forums call for community-wide collaboration and coordinated action as strategies to tackle these issues. Community ownership and accountability for the plan will be critical to its success, so widespread participation is needed.
