Bring your quilting projects, sewing machine, and hand work and join the Sardis Library Quilting Group for a day of quilting in the comforts of the Library. Saturdays, 1:30 to 3:00 pm. Learn the tricks of the trade for assembling your best-loved memories and milestones into a personalized scrapbook! In this introduction to papercrafts class, students will be introduced to the beginner’s approach to scrapbooking and journaling. Creative layouts based on individualized themes and events will be covered, such as the first days of school, travels abroad, birthdays, sporting events and many more, and students will discover the very best ways to depict their stories through visual and textual media. Students will also have three free drop-ins for our newly re-opened Papercraft Open Studio, a self-directed weekly session where projects and creations can be worked on at the Centre, using familiar tools and supplies.

Thursdays in March, 10:30-11:30 am March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 Rainy day and your toddler is climbing the walls? Need to connect with other local parents of little ones? New to town and looking for free family-friendly events? You’re invited to a weekly free meet up that features space for toddlers accompanied by parents to play with toys, books, and meet up with their friends and make new ones. Each session begins with storytelling by a librarian. For ages 18 months – 3 years (younger siblings welcome to tag along).

Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:30 pm. If you got the bug for wirework in the beginners class, this class will help you take your jewellery-making to the next level! Students will explore the possibilities of wirework more with this class, building on the skills of the introductory class. Working with textures, hammering, shaping wire and making individual beads and connectors, as well as more advanced finishing techniques with patinas, students will learn the trips and tricks that make mastering this unique art form easier – and even more fun!

Spring Break Art Camps run from 8:30 am to 4:15 pm week days for kids ages 5 to 12 and older during the break. Kids will have the chance to explore a variety of arts and crafts – from acting to pottery to mask making. With a new flexible format, it’s up to you how long your kids spend at camp. Starting at 8:30 am and running until 4:15 pm, the day is made up of six blocks. Kids can sign up for just one, a full morning, a full day, or any combination in between – meaning you can customize your child’s Spring Break camp experience to fit perfectly with their interests.

Join us on a week-long theatre-fantastic adventure. The Performing Arts is an excellent medium for young performers to explore their creativity, express their individuality and discover their artistic selves. From 9am to 3pm young performers will immerse themselves in the world of singing, dancing and acting through games-based learning, music and movement. Colorful costumes and professional props will help round out their creative adventure.

The 2nd Annual Barn Burner BBQ Competition presented by Johnston’s Pork & Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry. Come join the fun & enjoy tasty BBQ samples.

The Barn Burner BBQ competition consists of 4 main categories: Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken and Ribs. Brisket is cooked for 12 – 16 hours. Ribs take aprox. 6 hours & chicken aprox. 4 hours.

On Thursday, March 31st at 7PM, as part of our exhibit Game On! The Evolution of Sports in Chilliwack, we will be exploring the living history of women in sport through the past, present and looking towards the future.
