Point and Shoot Photography for Kids. Ages: 7-12. Instructor: Garth White. Dates: Monday April 7, 14, 28 and May 5. Time: 3:30 - 4:30 pm. In these 4 classes the class will explore different photographic techniques and ideas, allowing the students to experiment, make mistakes and learn through the guidance of the instructor and their own self correction. Classes will be held at the Art Room and outdoors around the neighborhood. Supplies needed: A simple point and shoot camera and owner’s manual (if possible). Cost: Members: $30, Non Members: $35.

Fancy Easter Egg Dyeing Workshop. Thursday, April 10 3:30 - 5:00. Ages: 7-12. Stephanie Brubaker. After learning how to make this style of eggs students will never go back to the boring old egg dyes. In this class students will experiment with many different coloring techniques such as tattoo, tie dye, leaf prints and paint that resemble robin eggs for their own unique clutch of eggs. Cost: $10 member, $15 non member.

Robotics Systems 2.2 this course will teach more about applications for gearing and motors. Concepts will include engineering principles such as torque and gear ratio. Students will build projects that include mechanical parts such as worm gears and transmission. As students progress this class allows them more freedom to modify their creations and build complex designs from scratch. Ages 7-11+ 2:30-4pm $95

The Chilliwack Transition Fair is a trade show type fair where professionals who work with people with disabilities making transitions into employment, education and community come together to provide information about programs and services for people with disabilities. The fair has been running annually for many years and is a lively affair with music, snacks and lots of networking.

A chance for local gardening enthusiasts and first time gardeners to come together and enhance their vegetable growing skills and soil health knowledge. It is also a chance as a community to participate in Plant a Row Grow a Row 2014 for our local Ruth and Naomi's dinner program and weekly produce hampers. This event is by donation and runs from 1:30-4:00 pm. Every interested person in Chilliwack is welcome. The first 100 gardeners to register in person (starting at 1:30 that day) will receive a complimentary garden starter seed kit for use with PARGAR 2014 and some just for fun! There will also be an area set aside for seed trading. This event includes two gardening workshops: 2 pm - Join us as we learn from award-winning local gardener Jack Kouwenhoven on "amending the soil for planting and the best methods for healthy vegetables". 3 pm: Learn from local gardening expert, Brian Minter, the secrets for success with the most popular and sometimes challenging crops such as potatoes, other root crops, brassicas, tomatoes, and peppers, as well as the best methods of organic pest management.

Pinterest Project of the Month - Upcycled Wind Chime With Stephanie Brubaker. On the last Wednesday of each month the Art Room hosts an evening class of Pinterest inspires craft projects: Wed. April 30 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Ages 13 - Adult. Using old cookie cutters, beads, buttons, coins and findings from around the house students will create a beautiful wind chime that will be as unique as the person it is for. Final designs may vary from photo. Cost: $ 20 members, $ 25 non members.
