Run for Mom is a Mother’s Day celebration and fundraising event for the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation supporting Chilliwack General Hospital. Year after year, participants and their families help raise money that directly benefits programs for women and children at Chilliwack General Hospital.

Notes:

Since 2000, Run for Mom has raised over $420,000 to purchase equipment such as: fetal monitors, infant resuscitator, labour delivery bed, oxygen analyzer, glidescope, jaundice meter, isolette, specialized surgical table and more. Last year, the event raised $30,000 to buy a fetal monitor for the Chilliwack Maternity Department. We could not have done so without our amazing sponsors and participants supporting this worthwhile cause. This year the funds raised will be designated towards the purchase of a new CT Scanner for Medical Imaging as well as an infant vital monitor for the Maternity Department at Chilliwack General Hospital.

With ticket sales already underway, the community of Chilliwack is looking to break the RBC Cup attendance record when it welcomes Canada’s National Junior A Championship May 12-20, 2018, at the Prospera Centre. Grande Prairie, Alta., host of the 2004 RBC Cup, currently holds the attendance record of 35,953. The 2018 RBC Cup represents a partnership between Hockey Canada, the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL), the BCHL, BC Hockey, and the host Chilliwack Chiefs as four regional champions (Central, East, Pacific, West) join the Chiefs in playing to become national champions. The 2018 RBC Cup schedule features 10 preliminary-round games, including the Chiefs’ tournament-opener at 7 p.m. PT on May 12, along with two semifinals, and the championship game, when the puck is slated to drop at 5 p.m. PT on May 20. TSN and RDS, Hockey Canada’s official broadcast partners, broadcast the championship game, while all other games will be available via live stream at HockeyCanada.ca/RBCCup.

By participating in the Walk, you can help provide life-changing Dog Guides to Canadians with disabilities. Walk routes are accessible to all.

Musical Bingo – Thursday, May 31st at the Mount Cheam Lion’s Hall 45580 Spadina Avenue, Chilliwack 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Join us for an evening of fun playing musical bingo! Musical bingo is a game combining various categories of music, movies and a little trivia with the concept of a traditional bingo game. Numbers on the bingo cards are replaced with items from the categories above and called out by a caller.
