Friendly, acoustic song circle. All singers and musicians welcome

All attendees bring songs to sing and perform for the rest of the circle. Very supportive atmosphere.

Mondays - May 14, June 11, July 9 & August 13, 11:45 am - 12:30 pm. Some of our happiest memories include sharing music with family, most often a parent or grandparent. Make a lasting memory with your child and nurture the natural love of music that is intrinsic in all children. The bond between musical learning and all other forms of learning has been scientifically proven. With this class, children learn through singing, movement, and trying instruments, but also through watching their loved ones take part. This program is for children ages 0 – 5 and is in partnership with the Chilliwack Academy of Music.

On every first Thursday of the month, between 10:00am and 12:00pm, all Seniors are invited to drop in for a Free cup of coffe or tea or just to say Hello.

An opportunity to meet other seniors and to receive help to get answers to any questions you may have!

This event is a mind, body, spirit event. There will be authors, speakers, Reiki, Massage, crystals, books, healing modalities, readings, jewellery, yoga and yoga wear. healthy foods.

Wednesdays, July 11 – August 29. Storytimes will run 10:30 am – 11 am, followed by special guests 11 am – 11:30 am. Every Wednesday during the summer, the Chilliwack Library, in partnership with the City of Chilliwack, will be hosting Storytime in the Park! Each week will feature something special, check it out! In the event of extreme weather, storytime will be moved indoors. This community program is brought to you in part by funding provided by the City of Chilliwack. 1 pm - 2:30 pm Rock on! Turn an ordinary stone into a unique piece of art. Bring two rocks with the shape and potential to become a 3D conversation piece for your home or garden. All other supplies provided. For ages 10 yrs and up. Registration is required.

A program of Stories, Songs, and a Puppet Show by Master Puppeteer, Elspeth Bowers. This is a ticketed event. Please pick up your free tickets one week before the event at the Sardis Library.

10 am - 11:30 am. Meet the Space Chickens, Super Broccoli, a Bear-y Godmother, and a Rampaging Toilet Plunger! A program of Stories, Songs, and a Puppet Show by Master Puppeteer, Elspeth Bowers. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, enjoy a family-friendly, and enjoy a morning with your preschool--elementary school-age children at Storytime in the Park. Let us read a story, play some games, and have fun. There will be face painting, literacy activities, free book prizes, popcorn and a puppet show too!

Cascadia Expodition is a multi-day four-wheel drive event taking place in British Columbia, Canada, from July 18 – 22, 2018. It includes organized expedition-style trail runs for a limited number of participants, plus an expo open to the general public.

2:30 pm – 4 pm. Come to the library to meet Sphero SPRK+, a small robotic ball that you control with a smartphone or tablet. Make it roll around, change colours or run a program that you create yourself.

11 am - 12:30 pm. Learn how to use all the components needed to make simple, lightweight earrings. All ear hooks are surgical steel; friendly for sensitive ears. All tools and materials supplied. For ages 12 and up. Registration required.

2 pm. Experience the world through folk tales, wise words, and song with Storyteller Shayna Jones. Immerse yourself in these stories and help Shayna bring them to life through songs, rhythm, and movement.

4th Annual Barn Burner BBQ, presented by Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry and Johnston’s Meat. Join us on July 22 at the Farm Store in Yarrow for the 4th Annual Barn Burner BBQ - Chilliwack’s tastiest community event promoting tourism in the Fraser Valley while spreading the love, passion and joy for “southern style” BBQ. Complete with food trucks, sponsor exhibits, live music, kids’ zone, Axe Wood Crew’s mobile axe throwing tournament, and Old Yale beer garden, this annual Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) sanctioned competition’s is a celebration of great food, local products, businesses and entertainment. Barn Burner BBQ is free to attend, tasting wristband will be available at a minimum donation of $5. All proceeds will be going to Envision Financial’s The Full Cupboard, a community program designed to raise food, funds and awareness for food banks in local communities. 1 pm - 2:30 pm Float your boat at the Library! Create a miniature sea vessel with John Le Flock using popsicle sticks and other materials. Add-ons include sails and other features. All supplies provided. For ages 8 yrs and up. Registration is required.

11 am - 12:30 pm. Use natural stones and other fun materials to create one of a kind jewelry that is easy, fun and simple to take on and off the wrist. All tools and materials supplied. For ages 12 and up. Registration required.

2:30 pm – 4 pm. Design your own engineering marvels using Keva Planks. Attempt to build a skyscraper or create an architectural masterpiece. Supplies provided. Imaginations invited.

11am - 12pm. Spring into an art activity at the Sardis Library and create beautiful and colourful sand art. For ages 4 – 10 yrs. Registration required.

11 am – 12:30 pm. Create a colourful craft using these small heat activated beads. Make a critter, rainbow heart, peace sign, Pokemon, superhero, sports logo, video game character…the possibilities are endless! Attach a key ring or magnet and you’re good to go! Please allow extra time at the end of the program for the melting process. Ironing will be done by library staff. For ages 8-13 years old. Registration is required.

2:30 pm – 4 pm. In keeping with our SRC Motion Commotion this S.T.E.A.M activity kids will create their own moving little “Bot” by turning a toothbrush into a robot! BrushBots are easy and fun to build and race. The tiny vibrating motor turns the bristles into thousands of little legs, then they scoot like crazy bugs! This program is suitable for ages 7-12 and only open to 12 registrants. Online Registration required.
