Neighbourhood Park

In direct response to all of the input on this park/greenspace, the following was incoporated into the design;

• The proposed metal and plastic structures have been replaced by natural themed playground areas while keeping to CSA special requirements.
• The playground has been divided into 4 sections for different age and type of play.
• The play surface within 2 sections is proposed to be sand while the other two sections will be surfaced with a special bark mulch material known as engineered wood fiber.
• The playground borders have been increased in width to accommodate pedestrians including wheeled play.
• Most of the playground equipment has been selected for its natural quality and connection to the play surfacing. The play structures in the 2-5 year old area connect directly to the sand surfacing while the larger parkour play structure requires the softer fall protection of the bark mulch material.
• A water/sand play feature is the focus of the toddler sand play area.
• The guardian area had been centrally located and is included in the all wheeled play element.
• A multi-purpose sport court has been shown for installated in 2020
