Inviting the Mayor To Your Event

There is always something happening in Chilliwack and the Mayor’s Office receives many invitations for the Mayor to attend events in our community.

Please note that if your event is a fundraiser, protocol dictates that Mayor or Council are not charged for tickets when representing the City. If you desire, they will say a few words as a contribution to the event. Due to the overwhelming amount of fundraising events happening within the community that would like representation from the City, please book early to avoid disappointment.

To ensure your invitation is received and processed efficiently, please submit it to the Mayor’s Office in writing - either by email, Canada Post or by fax.

 Invitations for the Mayor should include:

  • Date, time and location of your event

  • Contact Information( name, phone number, address)

  • Event details including the role you would like the Mayor to play eg. speech, ribbon cutting, etc.

The Mayor’s schedule is booked at least two weeks in advance and the more notice you are able to provide, increases the likelihood that the Mayor will be able to attend your event.
